VIDEO: Texas Officer Dragged by Car During Traffic Stop

A Corpus Christi, TX, police officer is recovering after being dragged by a car following a traffic stop. The incident happened just after midnight, reports KIII.

The officer reportedly stopped the driver at Staples and Craig Street when police say a passenger jumped into the driver's seat of the car and sped off. He ended up dragging the officer with the vehicle.

The officer is said to be doing OK, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution to get checked out. Police tracked the getaway vehicle to Buford Street where it crashed just outside the Salvation Army Building. The man fled.

Police say they were able to identify the man who dragged the officer and crashed the car and are currently searching for him.
