VIDEO: Texas Deputy Swept Away in Flash Flood While Trying to Rescue Man

A Tarrant County (TX) Sheriff's deputy was swept away during a high water rescue in Burleson early Friday morning, according to authorities.

Authorities said Deputy Krystal Salazar stopped to help a motorist stranded in the 11600 block of Oak Grove Road at about 2 a.m. Salazar was wading through the water — which was about 5 feet deep — when both were swept away.

Deputies said a police helicopter and dive teams responded to search for the victims. Salazar was found clinging to a tree at about 3 a.m.

A MedStar ambulance transported her to John Peter Smith Hospital. Her condition was not released, NBC DFW reports.
