VIDEO: Rookie St. Louis Officer Wounded in Shootout

A rookie St. Louis City police officer who just graduated from the academy last month is recovering after he was shot during a struggle with a suspect. Chief Sam Dotson says the officer was shot once in the left neck and shoulder area but is expected to be okay. The injury is described as non-life threatening.

The shooting happened a little before 10 p.m. Sunday while the officer was patrolling with a sergeant on College at Carter in North City, KTVI TV reports.
