VIDEO: California Officer "Targeted" and Killed in Police Station Parking Lot

The day after a Downey, CA, police officer was fatally shot in the station’s parking lot in what appears to be a targeted attack, multiple people were detained and the search for others continued in Montebello on Thursday, officials said.

Wednesday night at around 11 p.m. Officer Ricardo "Ricky" Galvez pulled in to the station’s parking lot in his personal vehicle when two people ran up and opened fire, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. John Carina said.

“It appears like he was targeted, it doesn’t look random," Carina told KTLA TV.

A patrol officer heard the gunfire and pursued the suspected gunmen, believed to be two men, Carina said.

It has started. The attacks on law enforcement officers are here and now. Be careful, my brothers. Discretion be weighed very heavily. I pray to St. Michael for all of us.

I guess this shouldn't surprise me. All of the shit that's been going on nationwide. But yeah it does surprise me, cause you think no one would be that brazen to shoot an officer in the police parking lot. I just hope they have the animals that did this.

Tom Ret @ 11/19/2015 8:35 AM

I worked in both environments where the parking was not secure and later when it was via an electronic gate. Unfortunately in today's world, agencies need to become more secure to safeguard their officers even if it doesn't meet
the pc crowd's approval. It is also time for chiefs and sheriffs to go to 2 man units even when it will lead to longer response times. The public should be
advised this as it is required to help reduce officer's risk of assault. Officers also need to arm themselves 24-7 and wear their vests while coming and going from work and keep their heads on a swivel. In years past, this would be characterized as being paranoid but today is practical and realistic.

Some Perps are creative copycats; some are simply stupid. We should expect copycat ISIS type attacks now that we have a POTUS unable to call Islamic Terrorists what they are while allowing in un-vetted Syrian refugees. And that includes self-appointed, epiphany-inspired Muslims who are already here taking out soft targets as per direction of ISIS. The reward for such action is in becoming a Shaheen plus a guaranty of Paradise. Letting in such types guarantees trouble. Muslims already here will provide assistance and/or cover.

You can thank President Obozo aka Obama and his big mouth against policec& military. He favors the ghetto blk thugs and empowers them against all law enforcement. He meets and gives his approval with personal phone number to black LIES matter, minister Farrakhan, reverend al Sharpton, Jessie jackson and the new guerilla black panthers. See a one sided blk criminal pattern? He uses his influence and Presidential position to have ghetto thug criminal blacks attack police just like holder and his new attorney general that claims there is no Ferguson affect attacks on law enforcement. She per Obozo claims police are all happy and will to change for the better. Lies lies lies. Glad I retired happily. My best to all active law enforcement dealing with all this negative racist bull from the president and Ghetto thugs. Be safe

If you mean all the shit that's been going on nationwide like shooting 6 year olds, tasering 7 year olds, and pretending to have been murdered to cover up
your own crimes etc etc etc....., I couldn't agree more. Please do read the above comment by The Resistance and notice that he 2 doesn't use the n word or suggest lynchings in the town square but I'm going to go ahead and call him a racist as well. Wether or not you agree, I could care less.

Syle Kinney @ 11/19/2015 6:07 PM

Percy, you're an idiot.

I have seen a dramatic and sad change in society over the last few years. People do not want to take responsibility for their actions, and there are many people very willing to help them avoid responsibility. People want the police to wear body cams so we can see everything they do. But these same people do not want to have red light cameras at intersections, which keep people from running red lights and saves lives. They say it violates their rights. All you hear of late is that the police need more training on how to deal with unruly citizens. Perhaps there should be some training for citizens on how to be good law abiding citizens. Stay safe out there brothers.
