Substitute Teacher Fired for 'Inappropriate Comment' About Police Officers

November 13, 2015  |

A substitute teacher was fired for anti-law enforcement comments she made in a Sumner County, Tennessee, classroom, reports WKRN.

The teacher was let go Wednesday morning after allegedly making those disparaging comments in front of students studying government.

According to a police officer whose son is a senior in the class, the substitute said all cops are criminals and they wake up every day wondering how many people they are going to kill.

That account was confirmed to WKRN by Sumner County Schools' Public Information Officer Jeremy Johnson.

"She made an inappropriate comment to students in a class. It was about police officers, and it was not representative of what the administration or the school system believes," Johnson said.

The parent and police officer also told News 2 that his son and another student, also the child of a law enforcement officer, were upset by the teacher's remarks and left the class in protest.

According to Johnson, the principal immediately investigated, spoke to the class, and escorted the substitute teacher off campus.

Let me guess, no name and no race. Lets' at least share her name so that she never sees the inside of a classroom again. Or she goes to California and gets on at a state college. We need to stop this anti LEO BS early on and terminate those who can't do the Job but slam it every chance they get. Blues, Stay Safe.

How pathetic that this perspective is being shared to varying degrees in our schools and universities. There are also groups that are encouraging young people to actively resist police during contacts as a means of teaching social protest. These folks must be exposed and level-headed dialogue must be the order of the day. Find out what your kids are being taught; it's the least you can do to Back the Blue.

This substitute teacher should be fired and not be allowed to work in any school district for what she said. Substitute teachers like regular teachers have to be extremely careful what they say to students, for many reasons.
This female sub teacher shows her disregard for police and has no proof to back up her comments. If she ever applies to another school district to work and she is asked why she was fired, she should be truthful about what she said about cops.
Hopefully a school district superintendent will have the smarts not to hire this woman. COPS AREN'T KILLERS NOR DO THEY WAKE UP EVERYDAY THINKING OF KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE. GOD BLESS ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT, STAY STRONG AND SAFE BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good job principal! I agree with an above comment, would be nice to know the Race of this "teacher". Does that matter, not in the firing since all should be fired, but in that it exposes racism in minority communities....yes. This anti cop anti white needs to end, show us the facts, we should see that exposed. ALL the truth should be heard and then let the reader to decide I love this publication, but its policies of not reporting the race of offenders (and cops) is wrong, this does matter in todays atmosphere.

It is too bad that we want to know the race of those involved, but that is how society has evolved as of late. There are people out there making every thing about race. Why wasn't the name of the teacher published? Thanks to the principal that had the nerve to fire that teacher. I heard a news report that the ACLU has developed an app that when down loaded to your smart phone can be used to film officers interacting with citizens, and can also be used to send out an alert to others that this interaction is happening. Then others in the area can converge on the scene to assist with the filming. Then the video can be immediately forwarded to the ACLU for their review. This sounds like a disaster in the making to me. Does anyone have any information on this app?

plato's playdough @ 11/15/2015 1:22 AM

The adversary has made this about race, when they said they are the chosen people. Louis Farrakhan's many videos are still on YouTube. If you can spare the time, listen to as much as you can. Then, when you see the tail wag, you will know the dog it's attached to.

PS: PoliceMag, do you have alot of ROBOT subscribers suddenly?

S.S. @ 11/17/2015 8:58 AM

Any other INFO on the sub? Of course not. NO NAME, AND NO RACE. That's probably why that person is nothing more than a sub. They only like to work when it's convenient for them, and the rest of the time collecting welfare.

S.S. @ 11/17/2015 9:00 AM

NO NAME NO RACE, That's probably the reason they're only a sub. Like to work only when it's convenient for them, and the rest of the time collecting welfare and whatever else they can get for free.

Percy @ 11/17/2015 9:58 AM

@S.S.
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but you're latino aren't you or are you just like most american cops? Racist that is.

S.S. @ 11/18/2015 12:02 PM

Just like a welfare recipient "percy", what did I offend you? Well maam if the shoe fits wear it. Did I say anything about race? No. I don't think I did. You all of a sudden choose to run "her" mouth and assume to make it about race. you are a female right? With a name like "percy" I assume you are a female.

Percy @ 11/18/2015 1:12 PM

Wrong again Cletus.
You always say something about race, because you are a racist.
Go shoot someone's pet to show them you are in charge and a tough
sgt from San Antone.

S.S. @ 11/19/2015 5:32 AM

I doubt it percy just another female hiding under the protection that we provide. Just another ungreatful person, who thinks every cop is racist. Damn girl why don't you just go away, and stop trolling. Why are you here if we're so bad? Go back to your street corner percy, and go make some money to go along with your welfare.

Percy @ 11/19/2015 1:44 PM

@S.S.
Yes dear.
I seem to have hit a sore spot.
BTW it's grateful not greatful, try not to embarrass yourself sweetheart.

PS Amazing how anyone who disagrees with you must be on welfare, do you know a lot about being on welfare.

S.S. @ 11/20/2015 5:29 AM

Did you cut and paste? Wow! Like I said sme old tired shit as before. So much so that you are cutting and pasting. As far as welfare goes, I've seen it before so I pretty much know what look for. By your response you've gotta be on welfare, with 5 kids from different dads, and sells her food stamps for drugs, and hooks when she needs money. So I figured you out "percy". Like I said I know what to look for.
