VIDEO: 2 Boston Officers Hospitalized After Being Dragged by SUV
Two plainclothes Boston police officers were dragged about 100 yards in Mattapan Sunday evening.
Police were conducting a traffic stop in front of the Franklin Apartments on Stratton Street for speeding. When the Nissan Murano driver put the car in gear, officers tried to jump in, said police. The driver allegedly floored it, and the officers were hanging out of the car, being dragged along for about 100 yards, MyFoxBoston reports.
The suspect, identified as Bryant Gilbert, 45, of Dorchester, then hit a Toyota 4Runner and because he was going such a high speed, it caused the Toyota to hit a tree, said police.
The officers are expected to recover from their injuries.
