A 9-year-old boy killed in Chicago this week was "lured" into an alley and shot in a gang-related attack, authorities said.

"Tyshawn Lee was murdered in probably the most abhorrent, cowardly, unfathomable crime that I've witnessed in 35 years of policing," Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy told reporters Thursday.

"We're pretty certain that this is not an accident. He was not a bystander."

The child was targeted, according to McCarthy, because of his "family relationship with a member of a gang."

When asked which family member, he identified the boy's father, CNN reports.

Its already been a few weeks now. I'm following this story close. This poor kid who sounds like he had things going on for him. Just too bad it wasn't his father. This kid didn't stand a chance. I feel for the family, but what really got to me is how he was executed. Whoever did this is the epitomy of pure evil. You would think this is just another day in the hood. WRONG! It was something much, much worse. The father is a real piece of work. He won't say jack to the officers or detectives just cause he doesn't have the balls. The fathe is just as bad as the killer is. Same exact thing.
