Al Sharpton to Speak at Funeral of Slain NYPD Officer Holder's Funeral

October 26, 2015  |

The Rev. Al Sharpton, a longtime thorn in the side of the NYPD, will deliver remarks at a funeral for a officer gunned down last week in the line of duty.

Sharpton, who has led countless marches in the five boroughs and across the country against police, will call for unity between the police and the community when he speaks Wednesday at services for Officer Randolph Holder at the Greater Allen AME Cathedral in Queens.

Holder’s family and their minister told the New York Daily News the slain officer’s father met with Sharpton on Saturday and asked him to attend and speak.

You you kidding me?! Sharpton is one of the primary race baiters and Black Lives Matter movement forwarders of the false narratives that encourage people like this cop killer to resist arrest and murder or brothers and sisters in blue. Are we insane?

Archer @ 10/27/2015 12:58 AM

How very insulting to thise who have been murdered from the racist and divisive things comi.g from this mans mouth. Never forget Al Sharpt o n is a Presidential Advisor.

I have really mixed feelings about this. On one hand the tragedy of Ofc. Holder, which is terrible and I can't imagine what his loved ones feel at this time. Out of respect for Ofc. Holder maybe the family thought that it would possibly help. I just don't see it happending. but we must respect the families wishes. We may hate this asshole on a police perspective, and you are all spot on on when we blame all of these tragedies on sharpton, and obama. Just ignore this s.o.b. he ain't worth our time. Pay your final respects to Ofc. Holder. I just hope this asshole doesn't use this a a platform for his anti-gun rhetoric.

That's odd....
Sharptongue hasn't spoken at the funerals of any of the Hispanic, Asian, White, or other race's Officers killed in the line of duty....
Maybe it's because he hates every race but his own.

According to the NY Post, Sharpton was invited to attend the funeral by PO Holder's father. Supposedly he was not asked to speak. The Post also reports that according to PO Holder's fiancee, he did not like Sharpton.

Al makes money on promoting racism. Why can't black society see this. There's a place in hell for al.

Eddie Lareacuente @ 10/27/2015 10:49 AM

The family of Ofc. Holder apparently does not understand that Mr. Sharpton's presence is a slap in the face to all who serve and protect!

JJ Golliday @ 10/27/2015 11:04 AM

This is hard to believe. As another has said, possibly the father hopes it will calm things down. I personally would have told "Not So Sharp"ton to pound sand. JJG

We may have to treat Rev. Al like all families treat that oddball relative that we know WILL show up to pay respects at a funeral. It calls for Tolerance, Control of Emotions, Hope (that he will behave himself) and Prayer (that he will NOT misuse the event for his own nefarious purposes. He is a known rabble rouser, a known Polarizer and a known Catalyst for confusion. A group of 4 large, powerfully built LEOs should be strategically place near or adjacent to him with the instruction to pick him up by his armpits and carried off the stage if he DARES to misuse this solemn occasion to deliver his venom on anti-gun rhetoric. That QUIET, definitive action will deliver a silent message to all viewers if it should be needed. Such a plan allows for Rev. Al to demonstrate that he has learned something for harmony.
