VIDEO: President Obama Defends Black Lives Matter, Says Police Have "Tough Job"

At the conclusion of a White House forum on criminal justice, President Barack Obama said Thursday he wanted to make a final point about the nexus of race and the criminal justice system before launching into his defense of the movement.

"I think everybody understands all lives matter," Obama said. "I think the reason that the organizers used the phrase 'Black Lives Matter' was not because they were suggesting nobody else's lives matter. Rather, what they were suggesting was there is a specific problem that's happening in the African-American community that's not happening in other communities."

Obama paired his defense of the Black Lives Matter movement with praise for police and other law enforcement officials. Some police groups have been unhappy with the president's response to the deaths of unarmed black suspects. The president lately seems to be making the extra effort to publicly praise police officers for willingly taking on a dangerous assignment, CBS News reports.

He did so while participating in a forum on drug abuse Wednesday in Charleston, West Virginia, and next week he's scheduled to address the International Association of Chiefs of Police in Chicago.

Yes, cops have a tough job and made a whole lot harder with presidents like
Obama who don't have a clue what cops encounter or have to endure. He may be seeing the results of the lack of support and empathy for police in a dramatic increase in violent crime as cops are less inclined to be proactive. You reap what you sow but in Obama's case, he will never admit that he has been a large part of the problem with his demonizing the police for the last 7 years.
The black lives matter group calls for the killing of police. Since Obama still wants to identify himself with this group; he is making clear where he really stands and it is not with law enforcement.

Did anyone but me notice that both the killer of Officer Holder and the shooter of the Albuquerque officer bear a resemblance to Obama? They could be his sons.

Why in the hell was he invited to the IACP convention in the first place? He's the reason this anti-cop movement started in the first place. Anybody remember his first intervention with the "Cop acted stupidly" comment? That started it all. It's been a steady down hill from there. A street thug gets killed resisting arrest, or shooting at police, he or his staff attend the funeral. A cop gets ambushed by one of his empowered street thugs, NOTHING!!!
