U.S. Marshal Josie Wells' widow has given birth to a healthy baby boy in Louisiana who bears his father's name. The Louisiana Concerns of Police Survivors Facebook page posted, "La. C.O.P.S. would like to welcome to the world Josie Wells, Jr. Son of Mrs Channing Wells and the late Deputy U.S. Marshal Josie Wells, Sr. -EOW 3/10/2015."

The 27-year-old U.S. Marshal died after he was shot Mar. 10 in Scotlandville, La., near Baton Rouge while executing a warrant on a double homicide suspect. At the time, his wife had just found out she was pregnant with the couple's first child.

May God watch over the newborn baby boy and the wife. Marshall Wells gave his life for his country in the performance of his duty. Lets hope that the current administration doesn't forget about that.

God bless you Josie Jr and Channing. My you learn and appreciate over the years what your father gave to provide for you and the community.

I hope that Mrs. Channing Wells knows that she will have full support of Deputy Well's agency behind her.
