A shootout at a chicken house in Cullman County, Ala., Sunday afternoon left an Arab, Ala., police officer injured, one suspect dead and another suspect in custody.

The shooting happened near the county line of Cullman and Marshall counties, said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry. It followed a multi-jurisdiction chase that ended on County Road 1825.

According to The Arab Tribune, which has been providing updates on its Facebook page, the wounded Arab Police Officer is Jeff "Preacher" Warren. Warren was alert and talking as he was loaded onto a medical helicopter, according to the Tribune. Officers shot and killed the man who shot Warren.
