VIDEO: Florida Deputy Shot, Critically Wounded During Prostitution Bust

A Brevard County, Fla., deputy ambushed and shot multiple times during a prostitution bust Thursday night remained in critical condition Friday.

The wounded officer has been identified as Agent John “Casey” Smith.

The accused gunman was also shot when authorities returned fire, but his injuries were not-life-threatening.

"We are still very early in the investigation and we’re trying to put the pieces together of what took place tonight," Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey told WFTV. "It’s just crazy to me somebody would open fire on our deputies.  They were clearly marked."

A woman in the home, Mary Ellis, 42, was arrested on prostitution charges and was being questioned by authorities.

This is another instance of the "we want dead cops" theme that the radicals have been chanting since over a year ago. The political heads have these people thinking that shooting cops is ok and it won't change until someone gets the needle for it.

Jon, it ain't going to get better until we have a REAL DOJ, not the racist pos that we have now. Blues, Stay Safe.

We are all we have fellas, and our families as well. We NEED TO WATCH OUT FOR EACH OTHER. I'VE BEEN ON 20 YEARS AND IT'S GETTING WORSE OUT THERE FOR US. NO ONE GIVES A SHIT IF WE'RE SHOT OR IF WE GET KILLED. RIGHT NOW THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS TO THESE PEOPLE IS WHAT THE MEDIA FEEDS THEM. THEY JUST DON'T CARE.
