Baltimore is turning to the federal government for help in stemming a dramatic uptick in violence over the last several months.

Ten federal agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration; the U.S. Secret Service and the U.S. Marshals Service will embed with the police department's homicide unit for the next 60 days, city leaders announced Monday.

They join the 20 ATF agents who were sent in last week to form BFED, a joint task force that "is the next step of an all-hands-on-deck movement addressing violence in our community," Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake told CNN.

What a joke, like any Fed can do street police work (other then ones who used to be cops). This is all show, In our state the Feds don't even have arrest powers for state crimes, only federal. Hell even when FBI arrest DRUG dealers they call on the DEA and vise versa. Nothing adjacent the feds personally, but they have their level of police work, we have ours. Anyone in local Law Enforcement and most Feds that have any touch of reality know that dropping a Law Enforcement officer from an outside agency, unfamiliar with the area is just all show, no go. They basically are ride alongs that can "help" make arrests.

Yeah, who couldn't see this coming. It's about time. These p.o.s. criminals are to blame, however the city government is also to blame. Especially that media hog d.a. who is completely unprofessional and has a personal agenda of her own. I hope she knows that those people that she is supposed to prosecute instead she is making friends with them. They don't respect her one damn bit, and they are making her look completely incompetent and naive. SHE'S A JOKE. Most of those crimes are black on black, and people get all bent outta shape when an officer has to take a person out. If that person is black uh oh, watch out!!!Here comes another riot.

Maybe the city of Baltimore shouldn't have committed political suicide!!! They have scared the police by arresting them for doing their jobs. Now the police officers are boycotting so they don't end up like the others charged with murder. Politicians in Baltimore should ban handguns too because that will work as well! Stay safe men/women in blue!

WOW!!!!Better hope SOME of the feds came from police departments so they have some inkling of how to police the streets. A feel good "USELESS" dog and pony show. What else would we expect from the current A.G etc.????
