VIDEO: NYPD Officer Shot in Face Dies from Injuries

The NYPD was plunged into grief Monday after a hero officer who had been shot in the face by an ex-con died after a valiant two-day struggle to stay alive, sources said, reports the New York Daily News.

Officer Brian Moore is the first NYPD officer killed in the line of duty since December, when Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were killed in an ambush as they sat in their patrol car.

Moore, who was 25, joined the force in 2010 and his father and uncle are both retired NYPD sergeants.

His death means that Demetrius Blackwell will likely face a murder charge for allegedly gunning down the plainclothes police officer in Queens Village, the sources said.

Rest in peace. He laid down his life for the rest of us. As a New Yorker I can tell you there is nothing like the NYPD. They give us their best and they deserve ours.

Justice should be a death sentence! None of this bad child hood, or poor black deprived person. But KILLER, THUG, RACIST and Stupid ignorant race-baiter believer. Sharpton should also be charged for putting all this hate white cops or just white-e in general. Justice= Death Sentence & sharpton charged with instigation crimes against America! And anyone wo supports sharpton as a collaborator and charge accordingly to American law. 50 states+ 50 states with multiple police jurisdictions, 1 national police force = Communism and sharpton and o bama want that. What ?against the Constitution.

First my deepest condolences to Officer Moore's family and the NYPD. Second the shame is that Sharpton and his cronies will make sure the perp has the so called dream team when the perp goes to trial. I hope the jury sees through this.

Condolences to Officer Moore's family and the NYPD. Your loss touches all of us in the extended family of fallen officers. In your grief know that your support of him, while he lived made the world a better place.
