Pennsylvania Officer Fired, Charged with Beating 2 Suspects

March 17, 2015  |

An Allentown, Pa., police officer has been fired and charged with beating two suspect during two different incidents.

In the first incident, the former officer reportedly chased down an armed robbery suspect last spring, stopping the man by stunning him at least three times with a Taser, according to court records. Authorities allege he then kicked the suspect repeatedly in the left eye, the face and the ribs. The man lost consciousness, suffered vision loss and needed sutures to close a wound to his left eyebrow as a result of the June 12 beating, authorities said.

Six months later, the officer reportedly beat another suspect — this one handcuffed — at the end of a police pursuit, court records show. That man, suspected of driving a stolen car Dec. 18, suffered a head wound that needed staples to close, authorities said.

An internal investigation was launched, the Morning Call reports. Both victims gave statements and fellow officers said the accused officer beat the suspects, according to authorities and court records

Sad, this guy should have been fired the first time. The first victim now has one heck of a lawsuit with a pattern of violence on the Officer's part. It is interesting, even in both events his fellow Officers complained he was too violent but his agency did nothing. This guy will cost his city and agency a ton of money and rightfully so.
