VIDEO: Kentucky Officer Killed In Three-Car Crash

Nicholasville (Ky.) PD Officer Burke Rhoads was killed in a three-vehicle crash while driving his police cruiser in Garrard County Wednesday morning, reports lex18.

Officials say the accident occurred when the driver of a white vehicle pulled out onto US 27 from Rodgers Road and her vehicle clipped Officer Rhoads' vehicle. His vehicle then spun into oncoming traffic and was hit by the driver of a black SUV. The three people in that vehicle were taken to UK hospital.

An official cause has not been released in the crash but Kentucky State Police tell LEX 18 that foggy conditions may have reduced visibility.

Rhoads is survived by a wife and three children. He was an eight-year veteran of the department.
