VIDEO: Wisconsin Sheriff Calls Sharpton a "Charlatan," Smacks Down Holder

Responding to reports that the Department of Justice will not file federal civil rights charges against former Ferguson, Mo., police officer Darren Wilson, Milwaukee County (Wis.) Sheriff David Clarke had strong words for the Rev. Al Sharpton and outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder in an appearance on this morning's “Fox & Friends” show.

“The grand jury in Ferguson, Missouri, got it right,” Clarke said about the Michael Brown shooting. “Officer Wilson has been exonerated. The thing I want to know is how does he get his reputation back?”

Clark agreed with host Steve Doocy that Holder is guilty of "race-baiting."

"Just take a look at the history here," Clarke said. "This isn't the first time that [Holder] has done this sort of thing. He sat up there for months just slandering law enforcement officers all across the nation."

Clarke reserved his harshest comments for Sharpton.

Doocy asked the sheriff to watch a clip of the activist delivering a Dec. 3 speech is which he said, "This is going to be a winter that we are going to freeze out police brutality in this country."

Clarke responded to the clip, saying, “I don’t expect anything intelligent to come out of the mouth of Al Sharpton we all know that he's a charlatan…Al Sharpton ought to just shut up and go back into the gutter he came from.”

Amen.

Buck111 @ 1/22/2015 4:00 PM

Well said Sheriff

bob retired leo @ 1/22/2015 4:12 PM

Amen!!! I had been putting up with Shaprton's nonsense since starting as a young cop in 1975 in NYC.... well said Sheriff!

UncleMike @ 1/22/2015 4:28 PM

The Sheriff's right.
I wonder how long it will take for Sharpton, Holder, and the other "Jump to judgment" people to apologize to Darren Wilson.

Tom Ret @ 1/22/2015 4:42 PM

It isn't the man's skin color that determines his character but by his words and actions. This sheriff tells the truth unlike Holder and Sharpton. If only more chiefs and sheriffs had the guts that this sheriff has, Holder and Sharpton would be put in their place.

Mitch @ 1/22/2015 4:51 PM

I hope Wilson sues the city/state/feds for making a hostile work place.

BT @ 1/22/2015 5:50 PM

Hooray Sheriff Clarke! It's about time somebody with an ounce of brains
characterized Sharpton for what he is. A Charlatan. Couldn't have said
it better myself. Holder and Jesse Jackson are just slightly more intelligent,
but still Charlatan's also. I'm sure an apology will never happen. Their ego's
are too big. As for Offc. Wilson, they have killed him and his family just for their
agenda, when all he was doing is his job.

ssc1911 @ 1/22/2015 6:02 PM

Yes, Sheriff Clarke is absolutely right in what he says about Sharpton and Holder.
Sadly no one has stood up to Sharpton and his extortion. Congradulations to Sheriff Clarke on his guts, he is a real good man and law enforcement officer.

Robert @ 1/22/2015 6:19 PM

This guy needs to get elected to national office. He speaks truth.

Bud Thompson @ 1/22/2015 6:47 PM

We need more top law enforcement like Sheriff Clarke. He judges by right or wrong. Thank you Sheriff

Jim Davenport @ 1/22/2015 9:59 PM

This sheriff is great! Sheriff Clarke is a credit to our profession. Sadly, it appears that law enforcement has lost another good officer with the resignation of Darren Wilson. Perhaps Obama can intervene by inviting Darren Wilson and Holder to the White House and they can talk nicely, resolve all these issues and have a beer, as he did between the Harvard Professor and the police officer.

Morning Eagle @ 1/22/2015 10:05 PM

People like this are too self righteous to ever apologize. They think they are so far above the rest of us that whatever they speak makes it so and they refuse to be confused with facts. I admire Sheriff Clark's pointed and accurate remarks.

1sam80 @ 1/22/2015 11:54 PM

Totally agree with the Sheriff, Has the officer sued yet? I would think he has a good case.

Sally Ramage @ 1/23/2015 4:07 AM

Thank you for this video news. The Wisconsin Sheriff was forthright and correct. The people need educating on the topic of Rule of Law. I like to watch your police news because I live in the United Kingdom and in contrast to yourselves, the UK has no representative proportion of UK police officers which reflect the ethnic population in the country- so it is always very heartening and so refreshing to lift my soul to watch United States police officers. Here we live in another world. Due Process was maintained with regard to this incident. I wish people would understand that everything is relative.

Bob @ VA @ 1/23/2015 4:41 AM

Great observations by the sheriff. There's one of the few chiefs who haven't been neutered. The race-baiters will never apologize. When did they ever apologize to the Duke lacrosse team members who they falsely accused? When have they ever apologized to anyone? Being a socialist race-baiter means never having to say you're sorry.

Ken @ 1/23/2015 6:33 AM

Well the Sheriff is spot on regarding Sharpless, and Dick Holder. He could have gone further and included His Majesty Obama and the terrorist sympathized diBlabbio. We need more voices like these being heard. Our past Gov. Jan Brewer and Sheriff Arpiao have Ben saying this for years.

Kevin @ 1/23/2015 1:06 PM

Well said Sheriff. Since these charlatans would rather spew bs for their own agendas on the backs of every LEO, I say let them fend for themselves. Next time they need police services they can figure it out on their own. Don't bother calling 911 and as far as Holder, I as a federal taxpayer would like him to no longer receive secret service protection. Go pay for a private bodyguard with your own money Holder. Same to you Mayor De Blasio. Finally to my brothers in blue, as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT, thank you for having our backs.

Officer Eric @ 1/23/2015 6:08 PM

Sheriff Clarke, you are 100% correct. You and Sheriff Joe need to run together for the presidency

James @ 2/19/2015 4:04 PM

Every L.E. Agency/Department can only wish they had someone as charismatic and experienced as Sheriff Clarke at the head of their organization - I know I wish mine did. I hope many of you, my brothers in blue, have such a leader.
