VIDEO: Officer Hurt, 19 Arrested at Seattle MLK Day Anti-Police ProtestUnit

A Seattle police officer suffered a serious leg injury responding to protestors who were roaming Seattle streets near Seattle Center and South Lake Union Monday afternoon.

Patrick Michaud with Seattle police told KOMO TV the officer may have suffered a broken leg and that it was related to the protests, but didn’t give further details.

The incident began on Aurora Avenue just after 2:30 p.m. as protesters, chanting "black lives matter" jumped into traffic in the northbound lanes of Aurora Ave. N. just north of the Battery Street Tunnel. Eight of them tied themselves together with PVC pipe and laid down on the highway.

Officers gave the protestors warnings that they were going to face arrest, then began arresting them. Police say 19 protestors were taken into custody by the time the march ended.

Other protesters in that group then moved down Republican Avenue, and it was during that event that Seattle police say that there was a "use of force" incident that resulted in the officer injuring his leg.

"Seattle police say that there was a "use of force" incident that resulted in the officer injuring his leg.'

Somehow, I doubt that it was the officer that injured his own leg...it was a "use of force" (read deliberate criminal assault) by a "protester" that caused the injury. I'm betting it was a thrown rock or other object by an "unarmed, peacfull protester" that injured the brother.

What could have happened...

Many protesters converged onto highways were interstate commerce is regularly conducted on a daily basis. Although police attempted to contain the unruly mob, who insistently claim that "black lives matter" as if unconcerned about any OTHER human being, police had been instructed not to intervene lest escalation of hostility occur due to the sensitive emotional nature of the protestors.

Unfortunately, the driver of a Fedex tractor trailer puling 2x 53 foot dryvans, was momentarily looking at his Android display whilst entering the northbound lanes of Aurora Ave. N. just north of the Battery Street Tunnel. WHAT could POSSIBLY happen NEXT?

To onlookers great dismay, the tractor-trailer ran over 8 protestors who had tied themselves together, and who had lain down on the busy section of highway.

Too bad so sad, it appears that the protestors now have something ELSE to bitch about. It is unclear if Fedex actually gives a sh*t.

Thats what the protesters get for breaking traffic "SAFTY" Laws, RUN OVER!Why (like we don't know the answer) would the name of a PEACEFUL/ANTI VIOLENCE man like Rev MLK be tarnished by these fools? Answer: well you know why, they are thugs and criminals. OH from now on I ship only thru FED EX, sorry UPS
