VIDEO: Fort Worth Officer Stabbed, Suspect Shot and Killed at Traffic Stop

A Fort Worth police officer was hospitalized early Saturday after fatally shooting a man who had stabbed him, according to a news release.

The officer pulled over a vehicle in the 1700 block of Northeast 36th Street at about 4 a.m., and a fight began between the suspect, who was alone, and the officer, police said. During the fight, the man stabbed the officer multiple times in the leg, and the officer shot him, police said.

The suspect was pronounced dead, and the officer was transported to the hospital in stable condition, police told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Appropriate use of force. Get well soon Officer.

Good deal, too bad the officer was injured at all. The old adage: don't bring a knife to a gun fight sure is true here.
