Man Planned to Ambush, Kill 3 Pennsylvania Officers

January 09, 2015  |

A Lancaster, Pa., man, currently behind bars, is facing charges after allegedly hatching a plot to ambush and kill three city police officers who arrested him last month, reports Lancaster Online.

Akeem Washington, 30, who has been in Lancaster County Prison since his arrest Dec. 28, solicited help from another inmate, authorities said.

According to police, Washington stated that when he got out of jail, he was going to place a fake call to lure the two officers to a scene where he planned to shoot them with an automatic rifle. Washington claimed that he had access to different types of weapons, including an AK-47 and an AR-15.

Police said Washington attempted to recruit a fellow inmate to anonymously make the phony call so he could shoot up the police car when the officers arrived.

Washington also stated he was going to shoot up the police station and that he wanted to follow the sergeant to his home, and shoot him there. Washington added that if the sergeant's family came outside, he would shoot them as well.

So what I want to know if the author of this article know who or how the perp got his weapons installed with select fire switches; or is this another contaminated article? Bet they hold clips too...................

There is no doubt Mr. Washington is a dangerous man once you read his history. He is fully capable of carrying out this threat. I do have to wonder about the reliability of the "informant(s)". It is very possible the informants were seeking a reduction in their sentences and made this up. Without knowing the reliability of his cell mates it's very hard to guess the legitimacy of the threats. With Washington out of the way could his cell mate be the real threat to Law Enforcement? This is a tough one to figure out and I hope they got it right.
