New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has called on President Barack Obama to demand that Cuba return a woman convicted of killing a New Jersey State Police officer in 1973 before the United States moves forward with a plan to restore diplomatic relations with the communist nation.

Christie joined other state lawmakers and authorities in calling on the president to demand Cuba immediately return Joanne Chesimard, a member of the Black Liberation Army who was found guilty in 1977 of murdering Trooper Werner Foerster.

Chesimard was sentenced to life in prison but escaped after two years. Chesimard moved in the mid-1980s to the communist island, where she was granted asylum by Fidel Castro. Chesimard has been living in Cuba since then under the name Assata Shakur, reports.

I guess Christie is too stupid to know that creating relations with Cuba will make extradition easier. Politicians, especially Governor's have no brains.

I agree it will be easier now, but shouldn't we have gotten something more out =of the initial deal, like have Cuba send say an equal number of folks we want for the three we sent them BEFORE we recognized them? Just saying. I really do not trust Obama/Holder to even try let alone obtain her and others we want. This administration is just in it for the press, the credit and then will move on to the next press opportunity. They will leave the mess behind for the next administration along with "temporary" illegal alien amnesty, the IRS and other such investigations. They will run and leave the house (USA) in such disorder we will think that Obama and his cronies were evicted!

Obama doesn't care much for current law enforcement much less one that was
murdered by a black in the 70s!

Ima, I see time has not improved your overall awareness of the real world. We would end up releasing some of the scum we have housed for years just to get this pos back, only to have king obama release her. Blues, Stay Safe.

[email protected] You really need to increase your badly needed medication, you are losing your grip on reality.
