A 42-year-old Glenview, Ill., police officer died of a medical condition while on duty Saturday.

Officer Owen Masterton, a 19-year veteran of the Glenview force, suffered a medical event while in roll call at the Glenview Police Station, police spokesman Sgt. Patrick Schuster said Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said Masterton was at the police station when he became unresponsive.

He was transported to Glenbrook Hospital where he was pronounced dead Saturday at 7:37 p.m., the medical examiner’s spokesman said.

An autopsy was conducted Sunday to determine the cause of death. A medical examiner’s spokesman told the Journal & Topics results of tests to determine the cause of death are still pending.

It would be of interest to know what kind of "medical event" just so others could prevent similar problems.

R.I.P. Officer Masterton. May your families find some serenity during this holiday season. A "medical event" is a new one for me.

Brothers that is NOT my post, some foolish coward is using my address. Guess I will have to change it. What a puke.
