Obama Team Calls for New Rules on Police Equipment

December 01, 2014  |

As part of a response to the police shooting in Ferguson, Mo., the Obama administration called for new rules Monday on federal money that local law enforcement agencies use to buy equipment, including military items, reports USA Today.

A new report did not explicitly call for a ban on the use of military equipment by police, but did recommend that equipment financed by federal money have "a legitimate civilian law enforcement purpose."

The administration released the report as Obama prepared to meet with Cabinet members, civil rights leaders, and local law enforcement officials about Ferguson, a week after a grand jury declined to indict a white police officer in the shooting death of an 18-year-old black man, Michael Brown.

The administration also proposed a three-year, $263 million federal assistance package to local law enforcement, including a plan for 50,000 new body cameras to be worn by officers. Brown's parents have campaigned for more use of body cameras by officers. The package includes expanded training for law enforcement agencies, and Justice Department assistance for community policing.

The Obama administration further announced the creation of a new "Task Force on 21st Century Policing," with goals that include new ways "to promote effective crime reduction while building public trust," the White House said.

more federal BS intervention into things they don't know about and really don't care about other then for the publicity. They act like its their money in the first place forgetting it came from the State and Locals in the first place. I say F>U> to ALL Federal assistance cash with strings and then they can keep their political agenda of screwing the cops for votes to themselves. We work with local $ and if crime rises oh well, let the chips fall where they may. Cops are to blame and racist if they police a minority area attempting to stop minority on minority crime and if they don't then police the areas and crimes take place, the cops are to blame and are still racist for ignoring the minority neighborhoods. We get blamed either way so F em all.

Local and state law enforcement does not need the likes of the community
organizer to dictate how to police or what equipment to use. What this country does need is a new administration to undo the screwed up left wing agenda
put in place by this lying, racist and corrupt president. Getting federal money
always has strings attached which gives the feds control over the locals.

Law enforcement should tell Mr. Obama, to take his body cameras a shove them were the sun don't shine.

Former Employee of Drury Plaza Hotel, Chesterfield Missouri, not far from Ferguson. Approx 100 Homeland Security Vehicles parked in the underground structure. He posts the pic on Facebook. Head of Security contacts him days later, tells him to take them down. (How did was this known?) He does. Then they fire him. He was told he had dishonored his country. He was Navy. Mark Pathrath. Says it cost the company 150,000 usd in contracts.

I don't know if he was active Navy, don't know how he came to be an employee.

What were the vehicles doing Hiding There?

Why would Head of Security tell him he had Dishonorably Served His Country?

plato's playdough @ 12/2/2014 5:21 AM

This whole thing strikes me with an analogy. Somebody starts a fire, someone else comes and pours kerosene on it.

Fire Dept shows up, get no help in putting it out, then the Dept is told their procedures need an extensive review.

No further spotlight on the arsonists.

When the businesses do not rebuild, what will happen to the land lease?

Will anyone notice years later if this real estate gets sold to the arsonists?

plato's playdough @ 12/2/2014 5:26 AM

Here are the arsonists...

And here are the supporters of the fire-starters...

Be Wary, this is a religious leader. Do you get who the firestarters were?

"Mr. Crump, he's a good brother..." Peaceful protest he asked for?

plato's playdough @ 12/2/2014 5:54 AM

Yeah, the fire starters...

Just listen to it, I won't have to tell you ANYthing. You'll see it.

plato's playdough @ 12/2/2014 6:13 AM

So about those Fire Starters and Arsonists.....

This speech from Sgt Mag Page, in 2012, warns about Emergency Police Powers, says the term Marshal Law will not be used.

Some of the words he uses will catch your notice. His speech is indicative that his concern would be an attack by Islamists.

But it plays right into Treyvon Martin and Mike Brown Biased News Slanting.

So the connection with Farrakhan and the Church of Islam, seems to be the thread that ties it together.
