Man, 20, Dies Amid Ferguson Protests

November 26, 2014  |

At 9 a.m. Tuesday, a resident of an apartment complex spotted the body of 20-year-old DeAndre Joshua inside a parked car, a white Pontiac Grand Prix, near Canfield Green Apartments, the same complex where Ferguson Police officer Darren Wilson shot Brown on Aug. 9. Blood-soaked shattered glass lay in a pile on the ground beside the car, reports USA Today.

Family members said Joshua's death is tied to the protests that consumed Ferguson after St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch revealed the grand jury's decision not to indict Wilson. But family members said they did not know specifically how he died.

As police towed Joshua's car, his grandmother Renita Towns said she had little hope that police would investigate and learn the cause of her grandson's death.

"Police don't care — he's black," Towns said.

I suppose there is no way this was drug related and his attacker used the cover of the riot to take care of business.

Funny how she thinks the police won't investigate "because he's black". Thats a bunch of crap and all you African Americans need to drop all the racial comments. You people are the ones who don't let go and is the first thing you want to throw out when something happens!! The African Americans are owed NOTHING AND THAT INCLUDES OBAMA!

Carlos @ 11/29/2014 7:44 AM

The maybe the Police shouldn't waste their time investigating this so his grandmother can get her wish?

I think they should charge al sharpton, jesse jackson, eric holder and barrack hussein obama with the kid's death!

"He Black",,,what a remark! In many cities in the 20s,30's and even beyond Black areas were patrolled by Black Officers and White Officers patrolled White areas. This was due to truely racist attitudes back in that day for sureā€¦.. BUT perhaps its time to return to the "old days" when only Black Officers patrolled the "Negro" areas of town. Im sure if that becomes the case, crime will fall, drugs will stop being used and sold, repeat for law and authority will return and all will live happily for ever after! Obviously no Black Officer will never be disrespected by the Black citizens since he will obvious not be the Racist that white officers are and no young Black man will be gunned down for no reason "everyday"(according to some) by these Black Officers since all crime and anything bad will cease to exist since the evil White influence is gone. I say this in jest , but perhaps something good would come of ALL Yes MORE PROOF that all this anti-Black Cops stuff is crap.(as we know)

There are good blacks and bad as are whites and other races. With that in mind though, more inner city, liberal blacks are making the case for segregation. It is blacks like this grandmother, who in my mind, are turning what would otherwise be accepting attitudes, into that of not in my neighborhood. This person bad mouths the cops at the same time she wants them to bust their butt to investigate her relative's death. More and more people likely will get tired of the blacks complaining and their putting black thugs on a pedestal for some type of irrational hero worship or whining about wanting more government handouts because they are so victimized by white society.

A small point, although late in the thread...

I google the vic's name, and results had some sites relating that this 20yr old had testified before the grand jury. Also indicated that AT THE TIME of the shooting of M. Brown, these witnesses were told to NOT SPEAK of it.

May have been retribution, given the grand jury's decision.

We may as well accept that any reported who puts a mike in the face of a victim's family will use it to blamed LE or accuse LE, and perhaps the encounter has been prepped (not entirely candid.)

I still say begin to litigate the reporters personally who present inflammatory information which incites unlawful behavior by any group. Sue reporters who violate LE personnel civil rights. Call it premeditated racism against blue people.

Reporters as individuals will not have the pockets to defend themselves in a prolonged court case. However, if the MEDIA company steps in to defend their employee, they are admitting CONTROL of content. Bang.

Now, I must say I hear more racist remarks, and negative remarks about POTUS from the thin blue line on here. The same guys I work with, whom I've seen in action. To say race relations is any different for us than it is for those we come in contact on the street is a joke. Until to people start seeing, both black and white, life for what it really is this these remarks will alwasy fill the page. There is no balance or reasonble solution, as you see here blacks will play the victim for as long you let them, whites will be judge and jury, and life will continue as is.
