Video: Darren Wilson Explains Justified Use of Force in Ferguson Testimony

November 25, 2014  |

VIDEO: Ferguson Riots, Wilson's Testimony Released

In grand jury testimony released Monday, Ferguson, Mo., Police Officer Darren Wilson said that he felt he was authorized to use force against Michael Brown Jr. after Brown punched him twice in the face.

Wilson said he went for his gun because he thought that a third punch from Brown could have "knocked me out or worse," reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

He also said that that even as he was running away, Brown could have posed a threat to officers responding to his initial call for help. "He still posed a threat, not only to me, to anybody else that confronted him."

Wilson compared Brown to a demon during the struggle at Wilson's SUV. Despite Wilson's size, at 6 feet 4 inches and 210 pounds, he said that when grappling with Brown, he "felt like a 5-year-old holding onto Hulk Hogan." Brown was 6 feet 5 inches and 285 pounds, according to one autopsy.

Wilson said the he fired his gun twice in the car. He began shooting again after Brown ran away, stopped, turned and began coming for Wilson, with his left hand clenched at his side and his right hand under his shirt, at his waistband.

Wilson's testimony about an encounter that he estimated lasted less than a minute was among thousands of pages of documents released by the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney's office after the grand jury decision was announced. The names of most witnesses were redacted.

I fully support this officer, I hope he finds a dept out there away from all of this but i cant understand why blacks thinks its ok to loot and steal as i seen alot of red diaper doper babies out there on the streets!!!!! Maybe i will buy myself a red baseball cap and wear it sideways and get baggy pants but that will make me a thug so i wont.

Tom Ret @ 11/25/2014 7:30 PM

They loot because they were scum bags before , during and after this incident. Brown was a scum bag and by his own words, "burn this bitch down", Brown's
step father is a scum bag. If they were white they would also be scum bags.

TheRookie @ 11/25/2014 10:33 PM

Absolutely justified 110%. He did what any sane trained L.E.O. would have done. They vandalized, robbed, looted, & burned their community out. As my dear deceased mother always said, "You Made Your Bed, Now Lay & Sleep In It."

The peripheral incidents are tempting to focus on, but you must look deeper for the people who hold the ladle that are stirring the pot. The media is deeply involved, and should be held responsible for inciting riots utilizing biased and incomplete reports. So you must look at vids released on YouTube and start putting pieces together.

You have to catch the end, where the attorney for the family says "You can't blame them for what they said" referring to the family saying "Burn this bitch down."

plato's playdough @ 11/26/2014 1:12 AM

The family chose Benjamin Crump as their attorney.

From Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benjamin_Crump

Crump is known for taking on high visibility pro bono cases with widespread media attention and civil rights implications. An example was the shooting of Trayvon Martin, who on February 26, 2012 was killed by George Zimmerman. Crump represents Martin's family.

Here is an example of the one's who are stirring the pot. This is important to see with your own eyes. Either you know how to connect the dots or you don't have enough information. Who is behind this kind of media?

One day an Islamist may blow up a synagogue or a church and his defense will be "My religious beliefs require I did this for justice for my people. Your accusations are biased and racist at their core, how dare you."

Smells like a precedent is being set. News used to be about facts. Once the conglomerate became the owner of almost if not all of the news outlets, it became about spin. They monitor the internet traffic.

And if you live to tell your story, you get to spend your retirement fund on your legal defense.

Ferguson: M Brown’s Mother Facing Accusations of Felony Armed Robbery

Victim is Mother In Law (or former mother in law) who was selling Mike Brown T-shirts. Stole 1500 dollars they had in sales. Fruit doesn't fall from the tree, does it?

S.S. @ 11/26/2014 7:23 AM

It's typical the liberal media was at it from the start. All they did was instigate the entire incident. This officer did his job, and everybody is second guessing him. Brown was a p.o.s. and everyone knows it. From the community to everyone else that is familiar with this case. Obama and Holder know this as well. But it doesn't fit their agenda to be on the side of law enforcement. Instead you have sharpton and that other idiot jackson saying it was race related. That's a bunch of bullshit. Brown committed a crime, and in his arrogance tried to intimidate the officer. Officers have no duty to retreat. Wilson did what he could, but when Brown reached for his gun all bets are off. It's now kill or be killed. Im glad Wilson got to go home at night. For Brown well you asked for and you got it.

Ima Leprechaun @ 11/26/2014 10:43 AM

This event had absolutely nothing to do with race. It was a case of protecting ones life against a hostile attacker bent on killing the Officer. Only outsiders and uninformed celebrities ramped this incident into a "racial" thing. The uninformed and stupid people, caused this to be a racial issue. But regardless of race, this event would have played out exactly the same. Mr Brown caused everything to escalate when he tried to kill Officer Wilson and those are the only true facts of this case and it had nothing to do with race.

another murderer got off scott free

Chris @ 11/26/2014 11:18 PM

To Sam. ''another murderer got off scott free?'' Are you naturally ignorant, or did you have to work on it over the years? Self defense is not murder, it is a''justifiable homicide.'' The problem with people like you is that you are all emotion and no common sense or logic. Most people like you also no nothing of the law especially when it comes to the degrees and levels of the ''use of force'' and when it is appropriate and justified. Bomb throwing ignorant one liners just proves you have no desire to know or seek the truth.
