Alabama Deputy, 3 Teens Killed in Crash

November 24, 2014  |

Authorities say four people, including an Elmore County, Ala., sheriff's deputy, were killed in a head-on crash in Wetumpka.

Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin said the two-vehicle crash happened around 7:45 p.m. Sunday on Firetower Road, ABC3340.com reports.

The Alabama Department of Public Safety said 16-year-old Austin Ray Augustine of Wetumpka was killed when the 2003 Infinity G35 he was driving collided with 50-year-old Deputy James Bart Hart's Dodge Charger patrol car.

Also killed were two 16-year-old passengers in the Infinity: Dylan Adler Bieber and Hoyt Elliot Hardin, both of Wetumpka.

Would almost bet there was horseplay or something of that nature in this tragic situation. May Deputy J. Bart R.I.P. Hopefully his Direct & L.E. families find some calm in the days ahead.
These children's family & friends are hurting, too. May God Bless all who have been impacted by this.
