Veterans Affairs Officer Dies from Heart Attack While Patrolling California Hospital

Police Officer Ronald Leisure suffered a fatal heart attack while conducting a foot patrol of the VA Medical Center in Livermore, California, at approximately 11:15 am.

He was conducting checks of the large complex when he suddenly collapsed. Medical staff immediately initiated lifesaving measures but were unable to resuscitate him, ODMP.org reports.

Rest in peace Officer Leisure. My sincere condolences to your family and to our department. I have retired because of a physical restriction but my heart is out on the floor of our Detroit VAMC as I dispatch our officers to calls in our Detroit VAMC.
