FBI Warns of Violence Against Officers Nationwide After Ferguson Grand Jury Decision

November 18, 2014  |

The FBI is warning law enforcement agencies across the country that the Ferguson grand jury decision "will likely" lead some extremist protesters to threaten and even attack police officers or federal agents.

Peaceful protesters could be caught in the middle, and electrical facilities or water treatment plants could also become targets. In addition, so-called "hacktivists" like the group "Anonymous" could try to launch cyber-attacks against authorities. ABC Chicago reports.

The bulletin's conclusions are blunt: "The FBI assesses those infiltrating and exploiting otherwise legitimate public demonstrations with the intent to incite and engage in violence could be armed with bladed weapons or firearms, equipped with tactical gear/gas masks, or bulletproof vests to mitigate law enforcement measures."

The bulletin cites a series of recent messages threatening law enforcement, including a message posted online last week by a black separatist group that offered "a $5,000 bounty for the location" of Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, who fired the shots that killed Brown on Aug. 9.

In its new intelligence bulletin, obtained by ABC News, the FBI says "exploitation" of mass demonstrations "could occur both in the Ferguson area and nationwide."

Wait a minute, hold on there, the "Don't shoot coalition" just mandated their 19 rules of engagement to law enforcement and told us we can't enforce the law or use force against them even if they are just breaking minor laws like throwing water bottles at the police. Apparently they get to use everything (firearms, bladed weapons, tactical gear, riot equipment, gas masks and bullet proof vests) against the police but according to their 19 rules of engagement that they (and apparently their own administration) mandated against the police, the police can't respond. Good lord what is happening to our once great nation.

Regardless of the outcome. I would encourage everyone to please. If your are going to protest do it with Dignity, Respect, Pride and is civil way. No violence. Violance doesn't solve anything, it just creates more problems. Peace!

It sounds like terrorism aimed at our country and law enforcement aided and abetted by the likes of Holder, Obama, Sharpton and certain segments of the media. It is time law enforcement quit worrying about the politically correct agenda and criticism from the left and take control of the situation. Acts of terrorism require an appropriate response and not the hug a thug nonsense previous deployed. Any person at this point in time who joins the mob, even if in their mind only intends to demonstrate, gets no sympathy from me if caught up in any melee. If the police don't control the situation, don't be surprised if individuals and groups resort to vigilantism which in essence happened on a minor scale when the police stood by impotently while shop keeper(s responded to their store(s) armed to run off looters.

officerh1 @ 11/18/2014 5:48 PM

How about in akron ohio where a black man shot and killed white officer justin weinbrenner .. the officer wasnt armed.. no respect for law enforcement

Our country now has an influx of Muslims. I am told by my college student Muslims that they are taught by their Imams to never find fault with another Muslim's interpretation of the Koran and to be silent. Good news for Jihadi. We now witness and see individual acts of revenge. This can rub off and be duplicated in instances like Ferguson. Logic, law, forensics, facts, data absolving Wilson be DAMNED! The lynch mob mentality mingling with psychopaths looking to loot while taking advantage of the chaos is now upon us. Semper Paratus (always prepared) police work can out maneuver the Perps. The governor authorized the National Guard to be present. There should also be UNDERCOVER OPERATIVES MINGLING AND GATHERING INTELLIGENCE. AND THEY BETTER BE ARMED WITH A SILENCED .22 SO AS TO NOT ALARM THE CROWDS if and when used. Dispatching of culprits will be of great assistance.

People are getting sick of the "Peaceful Protesters" clogging streets. Agitating "the black community" etc. If the LEOs don't have the proper equipment there will be a Vacuum of Vigilantes who will take the Law into their own hands. That's Holder's/Obama's plan. For Marshal Law. Holder and O want "Peace Full Protesters vs. Evil White Hillbilly Racist Republicans" so they can make anyone against Obama & Co. look like a Confederate Soldier during the Civil War. And he has the Media to help HIM! I would warn Law Abiding Citizen up in Ferg. To 1. Get Out. 2. Use Lethal Force as Last Option. But get MACE etc. and other non-lethal weapons. Even High Powered Flashlights work good!

As a 25 year vet of law enforcement, I think all officers across this country need to take a weekend off to show the "idiot public" just what we do for "them".
I'm so tired of being called a liar, racist, biggoted, abusive, power hungry pawn of the federal government.
I've been stabbed, shot at, burned in a house fire rescuing kids, run over by drunks twice, hit more times than I remember, spit on countless times & generally treated worse than the lowest life forms just in an attempt to keep the tax paying public safe from themselves just to have the idiot politician's tell me how I am to do my job to be proper.
Maybe I'm burned out, but it's time for the gangsters, the do gooders & dopers to see how the real world really is.

I take it somebody already knows the results of the secret Grand Jury hearings.

BT @ 11/19/2014 6:24 AM

Hey Ima Leprechaun, I'm surprised nobody else has caught that yet.
Too many preparations being done in advance.

tedb @ 11/19/2014 8:29 AM

Does anyone recall the "Chicago Police Riots" as the media likes to call it, at the DNC in 1968? Maybe it's time for the police to tell the scumbags we have had enough of their crap and start taking them out. If they want to wage war, give them what they want.

Nick Kneebone @ 11/19/2014 11:45 AM

I think the law relating to "Inciting to Violence" needs to be applied to ambulance chasers like sharpton and jackson and brought down hard on them and others like them....for openly agitating blacks and low information whites.... ..these "ambulance chasers" move from incident to incident building hatred.... inciting to violence and destruction of property.. all for political reasons.....our legal system should have these agitators in jail....and in a properly operating legal system that is exactly where they would be. God help America if this misuse of the law continues...

TERRY @ 11/19/2014 11:54 AM

I definitely am now going to go purchase another magazine for my 9MM. This crap has got to stop. You think Mr. President that your turn the other cheek will stop these ISIS idiots who you know have infiltrated our country. Let them come and sit at your table and see how long it takes them to behead you and your family.

Capt. Crunch @ 11/19/2014 9:08 PM

Gee we have in Ferguson and bunch of black people who do not respect the law
and the city government is trying to appease them. There is for sure something wrong with this picture.

Nineteen Rules Of Engagement Assenine where does the Don't Shoot Coalition get off telling law enforcement how they will act. As long as protestors act peacefully and don't do anything unlawfull and they do what law enforcement tells them like to disperse etc. then there isn't a problem. The problem is they the Don't Shoot Coalition wants to control the situation it isn't theirs to control. The grand jury made its decision they Protestors have to understand that. God Bless all law enforcment, NG, Fire.EMS in Ferguson,MO.
