Texas Constable Killed in Fistfight at Haunted House Attraction

A Texas constable died following a fight early Saturday morning at a haunted house in Canutillo.

According to investigators, Precinct 1 (El Paso) Constable Robert White was working security at the Texas Terror Trail Haunted House on the 400 block of Anthony Avenue when he got into a physical altercation with another man around 12:30 a.m.

Authorities identified the suspect as 19-year-old Devon Person Huerta, KTSM TV reports.

According to a complaint affidavit, Constable White was punched in the face and fell to the ground, unresponsive. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Huerta, a Fort Bliss soldier, was charged with Capital Murder and his bond was set at $5 million. According to the affidavit, Huerta tried running from the scene before he was taken into custody.
