Federal Civil Rights Charges Unlikely Against Ferguson Officer

November 03, 2014  |

Justice Department investigators have all but concluded they do not have a strong enough case to bring civil rights charges against Darren Wilson, the white police officer who shot and Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., law enforcement officials said.

When racial tension boiled over in Ferguson after the Aug. 9 shooting, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. traveled to the St. Louis suburb to meet with city leaders and protest organizers in an effort to bring calm. He assured them that the federal government would open a civil rights investigation into the fatal shooting of Michael Brown. But that investigation now seems unlikely to result in any charges, the Washington Post reports.

“The evidence at this point does not support civil rights charges against Officer Wilson,” said one person briefed on the investigation, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the case.

You can bet, with DOJ's agenda, they tried everything they could think of to find a civil rights violation. Not finding one simply confirms that this was a self defense OIS against a violent street thug

Now that your not bringing civil rights charges, do the country a favor, step down and take your punishment. What ever happens happens Erica

They practically promised a civil rights violation before knowing all the facts. This is why it is important to know the facts before jumping to conclusions.

I wont be surprised if the way the statement is made from DOJ it will sound like" DOJ can not gather enough evidence at this time to charge Williams, but the investigation will remain open pending any additional evidence"to charge the officer. Rather then "DOJ finds no evidence substantiating that Officer Williams violated any portion of the Civil Rights Laws during this unfortunate incident." What to bet ?

Hey Holder thanks for wasting the taxpayers money. How about Fast and Furious? Don't let the door hit you in your ass.

BlueLiner @ 11/3/2014 7:50 PM

Holder knew from the beginning that there wouldn't be enough evidence to proceed. He just went to Ferguson to try and stir the masses and intimidate the witness from telling the truth. Then once he learned that the grand jury won't return an indictment, he attempted to use his bully pulpit to scare the chief into making changes. He was lame his whole tenure, never deserving of the title to be the top LE official of America. Now he is a lame duck, or is it like a rat jumping from a sinking ship?

Junior, is very stupid and evil but is time as ended and like Boston, said don't let the door hit you in the ass junior.

Great for Officer D. Wilson. After more & more facts were revealed they didn't have a leg to stand on, i.e.; "no foundation." They tried to hide the facts so they could railroad him. After this is done maybe he'll move to another cop friendly state & continue his L.E. career. They've all but ruined it in Missouri & definitely in Ferguson/St. Louis County.
"Card Carrying Racist" Erica` von With-Holder @ Dept. of No-Justice can now weep in his pity stew. After today & Friday if all goes well he'd better run like a gazelle. Because if it goes the way I wish come January 2015 he could be indicted. But that's why he'll cut-n-run. His twin brother Obumbler can issue a pardon for him. That's why he's running like the little beeotch he truly is. Complicit in a L.E.O's. death (Brian Terry), & has been shaking down big corporations for billions for the past 3 years. This numb-nuts is a true Chicago Style Political Gangster.
