VIDEO: Machete-Wielding Man Killed by Arizona Police After Ramming Patrol Car, Seriously Injuring Officer

Avondale, Ariz., police shot a man Thursday morning after he rammed a patrol car while driving a stolen truck then got out of the vehicle with a machete.

Avondale police were pursuing a work truck that was stolen out of the Sun City area. Police told AZFamily.com the man assaulted a city maintenance worker before stealing his truck.

The truck rammed a police car shortly before 10 a.m. The man exited the truck while holding a machete.

Officers confronted the man, but he refused their verbal commands and advanced toward them with a machete and pocketknife.

Police then shot the man. His family said he has died and identified him as Jeremy Bustos.

The officer involved in the crash was extricated from his vehicle and was airlifted to a Phoenix hospital. He is in serious condition but expected to recover.

Get Well Soon Avondale Officer. You put your life on the line trying to block out that truck. That's a true hero.
It's a battle out there already & now the Islamist Jihads have called for attacks on Uniformed L.E., Military, and Public Safety. Stay safe Men/Women in Uniform/Plainclothes.

I stand with the blue line. If I see a fellow Keeper of the Oath being attacked, I will have his/her back.
