2 in Speeding Car Killed, Chicago PD Sergeant Hurt in Crash

October 20, 2014  |

Two people were killed and a Chicago Police sergeant was hurt in a crash late Sunday on the West Side, police said.

A car was speeding west in the 4000 block of West Ogden Avenue about 11 p.m. when the vehicle struck the back of a squad car and then crashed into a building, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer told CBS Chicago.

Two males in the car, whose ages were not immediately available, were dead at the scene, Greer said.

A sergeant in the squad car was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Greer said.

My best wishes to the Sergeant and his family. Take as much time as you need to recover we will have your back.
