Holder Calls for Broad Review of Police Tactics

October 09, 2014  |

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. on Wednesday called for a wide-ranging review of police tactics and training, speaking to dozens of mayors and police chiefs who had gathered in Little Rock, Ark., to discuss race relations and policing in the United States in the wake of protests in Ferguson, Mo.

"The Justice Department is working with major police associations to conduct a broad review of policing tactics, techniques and training," Mr. Holder said. The review is intended to "help the field swiftly confront emerging threats, better address persistent challenges, and thoroughly examine the latest tools and technologies to enhance the safety and the effectiveness of law enforcement."

He said he hoped the review would evaluate policing and provide direction "on a scale not seen" since President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Commission on Law Enforcement was appointed in 1965, the New York Times reports.

Mr. Holder, before you begin your politically correct discipline and criticism of the law enforcement officers in your state, I highly recommend that you yourself do something unprecedented. I would like for you to spend 3-4 weeks with the patrol division, and 3-4 weeks in the detention center. I think before you make such a serious judgement on the women and men on the job, you should walk a bit in their boots. And do night court, and night time ride a longs. See these folks before the jail cleans them up for court. See them while they are under the influence of whatever, and they are kicking, spitting, etc. at the officers. Just give it a try, with out the hoopla, do it 'under cover'. You will learn so much from the other side. Thank you for your time, I hope you at least consider this, I know it will earn you respect all from both 'sides'.

Coming from Holder and his fellow travellers...it's all so simple. Police bad, white people bad, police always wrong, blacks always victims, police stupid and wrong (obama's attitude coming out). There are no civil rights for whites, only blacks deserve these rights (per DOJ lawyers).

Ask the loser what Offcr. Terry might think of Holder's idea of review of tactics...arming the bad guys, letting them come into the US with Holder-supplied guns. Not his fault of course.

It takes a lot of gall to lecture police on how to conduct themselves when you are the most corrupt and racist attorney general in recent memory. I hope judicial watch is able to uncover the truth concerning fast n furious on Oct 22nd which the DOJ wants hidden from public view.

Liberals and Criminals like Holder have been whining about Police tactics for decades.
It's just another diversionary tactic to draw attention from the root problem, which is that crimes committed by certain people are overlooked by the DOJ.
I suggest that the DOJ investigate Messrs. Holder and Obama first.
The foxes are already in the henhouse.

Holder just needs to quit and move on he knows hes a looser and liar. He has done enough to stir up a race war in this nation and this has been his goal for many years. If there was Justice he would be sitting in a Federal penitentiary for all the crimes he has committed. He might get moving before Karma catches up with him and he shares a prison cell with one of his pets.

I thought this POS would be gone by now.

GI Joe @ 10/9/2014 8:53 PM

Holder and his Doj first have to clean house with their own corruption. They are criminals who are protected. Sick bastards

How in the world can someone be held in contempt of congress and still be free?

plato's playdough @ 10/10/2014 5:24 PM

I think the headline would be improved if edited ever-so-slightly.

Holder calls for a Broad Review of Police Tactics and says he will Begin by Observing Same from the Far End of the Police Range.

Richard Hightower @ 10/13/2014 8:21 AM

Mr. Holder can roll the list of his ideas and demands into a tight little package and shove them right up his in-box. Sorry -- Holder is the LAST person on the planet (outside our Glorious "Elected" Grand Puba in Washington) to say anything about "Race Relations".

kevCopAz @ 10/13/2014 1:49 PM

Well I agree with 90% of what was said above me, it can be said in a nutshell:
Hypocritical (Holder and DOJ)… typical of this administration, talk, talk talk, don't really look at the true cause and blame those that can't argue back and in the end do NOTHING just "look" like you care and are acting! (L.E.) What a bunch of crap !

Chuck @ 10/13/2014 2:10 PM

Freaking holder is the latest tool.
