Killer Who Shot NYPD Officer in 1974 Up for Parole

September 15, 2014  |

The New York Daily News is reporting on the man who killed a NYPD Lieutenant as he was walking along a street to his work on June 20, 1974. The officer returned fire after being hit and the bullet remains in the killer's shoulder to this day.

The strange events, legal wrangling and trials left the officer's bullet lodged in the killer's body as he sits in prison, waiting for his parole hearing in November of this year.

The officer's family is fighting for the convicted cop-killer to stay in jail.

In Texas, he'd have been buried by now.

Dear Police mag. Editors,
Can you please post a link to the ODMP page for this fallen officer. Let's keep a murderer in prison, where he belongs! Sign the petition, or mail a letter to the parole board, telling them how you feel. Don't let this dirt ball get out.

REY @ 9/19/2014 10:33 AM

The guy has served long enough.

"The guy has served long enough."

I'm sorry, you had a spelling error...."The guy has breathed long enough"...now, doesn't that work much better?
