VIDEO: Conn. Prisoner Slips Cuffs, Causes Wreck

A Connecticut state trooper from Troop K in Colchester was transporting prisoner Chad L. Nadeau, 24, of Andover, to the Hartford Correctional Center in the passenger seat of the State Police cruiser Friday when the prisoner freed himself from his handcuffs, according to State Police. Nadeau assaulted the state trooper driving the car and physically forced the vehicle to crash into the center median on the highway rendering the vehicle "inoperable," State Police said.

State police said the state trooper and Nadeau sustained minor injuries from the crash and that Nadeau was taken into custody and arrested.

Not really trying to criticize ,but if prisoner was handcuffed behind back with cuffs double locked and restrained in back seat ,this wouldn't/shouldn't have happened. The trooper is lucky he wasn't killed,i guess somebody got complacent, that shouldn't have happened.

More information would be appreciated. Was Nadeau built like an ectomorph? Was he related to Houdini? Was he cuffed with hands on his lap? Hand assessment can be made visually. Some hands can slip through cuffs whether in front or in back of the Perp, because of diminutive phalanges. But that is an elementary observation. One thing we do know about Nadeau, and that is that he cannot run and that the Trooper can run faster. Manure happens.
