VIDEO: Woman Shot, Killed by California Deputies

A woman died after she was shot at 4 a.m. Sunday morning by three Kern County Sheriff's deputies.

KERO-TV reports that it started with Sarah Bustamante yelling and throwing rocks on top of the rock pile. They say as they approached her she pointed a gun at them.

They fired and Bustamante was pronounced dead at the scene. It turns out the gun she was holding was a BB gun made to look like a real semi-automatic handgun.

Looks like a justified shooting to me. The police do not have a crystal ball to tell them if the gun is real or not. May the lady rest in peace, but what did she expect.

Chuck @ 8/4/2014 2:59 PM

Lenny your an asshole dude. Have you ever carried a gun for your job ? How many dangerous people have you come into contact with and not ever known it. The public knows us by our uniform, but we don't know the public. The most important aspect of my job Leonard, may I call you that. The most important aspect of my job is to make it back home to my family. Tell us what you would do differently Leonard. You seem to be the expert, tell us what you would do if someone pulled a gun on you ? But mind you, but you don't have the luxury of knowing whether it's real or not.

Chuck @ 8/4/2014 3:04 PM

Leonard, from everything I've read here from you, it really wouldn't matter whether the shooting is JUSTIFIED or not because YOU and every other LENNY LIKE person would find fault with every thing a police officer does anyway and even if JUSTIFIED, you would spit venom with your last breath. Which makes everything you and your biased tripe that spews from your mouth (keyboard) moot anyway.

Mitch @ 8/4/2014 3:23 PM

You can't reason with Lenny he is a troll looking at bashing cops or the military every chance he gets. As my daughter says dont feed the troll.

Chuck @ 8/4/2014 3:43 PM

What no comments from you Leonard ? I called you out lenny, I'd like to know what you would do if someone pulled a gun on you. I'll be waiting for your comments

Capt. Crunch @ 8/5/2014 2:04 AM

@ Lenny, to comment on your comment about 99.9% of police shootings are justified.

MLT @ 8/5/2014 3:57 AM

I suggest you look up the name Lenny. He is all about being a, self-righteous, annoying cry baby. Who knows nothing about nothing. I would love to watch you be put in the same situation as the Kern County deputies and piss down your leg. You have this attitude that just because we are police officers, we should be assaulted and shot without the ability to protect ourselves. I would be a fool to say there aren’t bad cops, but what I have seen (not referring to this case) is that cops make mistakes in a highly dynamic situation that causes the officer to make a split second decision, a decision that takes crybabies like you months sometimes years to determine if the action was the proper response or not. Officers don’t have that luxury and mistakes will happen. Are the mistakes costly? You bet, for all parties involved. But in most cases you have to remember, who started the situation in the first place?

MLT @ 8/5/2014 3:58 AM

Who was the one that put the officer in the position to make the split second decision? I have been an officer for 25 years and NEVER have heard an officer say, let’s go shoot, kill, hurt, beat up, or make a serious mistake that will ruin our career today. For every case you have listed I can counter with twice as many cases where officers didn’t go far enough out of fear of reprimand and where beaten and/or killed.

Check out the woman's replica firearm in this article: http://www.bakersfieldnow.com/news/local/Deputies-shoot-kill-woman-in-Bakersfield-269752511.html. No human being could distinguish that replica from the real pistol at any distance, especially when being waved around in the dark. This was either suicide by cop or the lady was mentally ill and off of her meds. Either way, the officers did what they had to do to protect the public. If it had been a real gun, which it certainly appeared to be, and she started spraying rounds, innocents could have been injured or killed as well as the officers. The officers simply could not take that chance.

Lenny is a turd and more than likely a crimianl who naturally hates the Police. Remember people hate what they are afraid of. Ignore the idiot and he will go back into the basement at mommy's house!
