An Eatonton, Ga., officer was called to a local McDonald's to break up a fight and died there, according to officials.

Officers responded to a call that a juvenile and adult got into a fight Sunday night. Three officers arrived at the scene, including Officer Noel Hawk. After defusing the situation, police say the incident re-escalated. During the arrest of two suspects, Hawk collapsed.

Police told WSB TV a bystander performed CPR, but was unsuccessful. Hawk was then transported to a hospital, but doctors were unable to revive him.
