VIDEO: NYPD and FDNY Brawl During Charity Hockey Game

A charity hockey game between New York City police and firefighters at the Nassau Coliseum erupted into a brawl on the ice Sunday.

In videos posted on YouTube and Instagram, players from both teams are seen clearing the bench, throwing punches and shoving one another as hockey sticks and gloves are left scattered on the ice.

The NYPD and FDNY both declined to comment on the brawl Monday, Newsday reports.

How about showing the photo of the two teams shaking hands after the game. It is New York and it is Hockey. Do not be shocked. Also mention the NYPD PBA President thanked the Firefighters who saved the two cops at fire. New York is unique.

Hey it's hockey and it's for charity. With two groups of people who are so strong minded who could have not expected a fight. No grudges held against either teams and they both know it was for a good cause. Thanks to all who played. Good job to the FDNY and NYPD.

It is always that 2% that makes the rest of us look bad. Public Safety personnel are suppose to set a good example not a bad example. @ James, I don't care if they kissed after the game the damage was already done. @Jo, we are strong minded but the 2% here were weak minded that why there was a brawl.

AZRider @ 4/8/2014 6:52 AM

Capt. Crunch....get over yourself. This is what police and fire do. There has always been that competition between professions. And remember, God made Policeman so Fireman would have heroes.

It is the same as going to work. Someone will always be filming the police, praying for an incident that would that would give us a "Black Eye."

OUTSTANDING. Talk about getting into the proper mindset. Glad the PD won. This is all going to be insignificant when the new mayor starts making changes.

AZRider, I agree with the God, statement you made. LOL

Doug @ 4/8/2014 1:21 PM

Why would anyone be shocked? This is like LDS church softball games, if you don't have swearing and fighting, what is the point? It does not take a rocket scientist to know when you add FDNY, NYPD and Hockey, the result would be a fight. The lucky fans got their money worth. Way to go cops and hose draggers, you made me proud!

S.S. @ 4/8/2014 2:15 PM

Its a damn hockey game it's suppose to be like that. Whoever is offended needs to go over to lenny's and stay there. Bunch of pansies. Glad PD won.!!!!

Capt. Crunch @ 4/8/2014 3:35 PM

@ S.S. you make about as much sense as Lenny, how could this be a hockey game when there are more pucks on the ice then players. To bad you were not at the game, you could have been a extra puck. LOL

S.S. @ 4/10/2014 1:48 PM

Capt. Crunch have you ever been to a hockey game. If not the please shut up and stop showing your ignorance. The way you sound makes you seem like you'd rather be watch iceskating. I guess you don't watch football either, or anykind of sports for that matter. Grow a pair, and then talk to me capt. crunchless.

Lenny @ 4/18/2014 1:22 PM

@ S.S. & Capt. Crunch
As someone who grew up playing hockey and football, let me just say.
Both of you should see about having those two flaps of skin under your
noses sewn together (metaphorically speaking of course). And just to save the two of you some time "Metaphorically speaking means what you say is not to be taken literally".
Sure is nice to see the 2 of you fighting, no slapping now. Capt. will you be bringing a lawsuit against S.S. for his comments? Amazing S.S. the only posts you make in some way insult or denegrate me, and you say I am unfair. Why don't you try to post something that consists only of facts or feelings about the story in question.
The late great George Carlin once said
" They ought to have two new requirements for being on the police: Intelligence and decency". He must have met the two of you.
