VIDEO: Man Gets 30 Years for Killing Border Agent Terry

Manuel Osorio-Arellanes, the only man taken into U.S. custody in connection with the 2010 slaying of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, was sentenced today to 30 years in federal prison, the Arizona Republic reports.

Terry’s mother and two sisters were present and offered tearful testimony at the sentencing hearing in U.S. District Court where the judgment was handed down Monday. Osorio-Arellanes spoke only briefly.

Terry was slain during a Dec. 14, 2010, shootout with five bandits as he and other agents searched for drug ripoff crews in a desert area near Nogales, Arizona. Authorities believe the bandits were hoping to ambush marijuana smugglers and steal their loads, but instead ran into the agents.

Osorio-Arellanes was wounded in the shootout and taken into the custody at the scene. He later pleaded guilty to felony murder in an agreement with federal prosecutors that eliminated the death penalty.

Why did Manuel Osorio-Arellanes get off so easy? He should get first degree Death at most and Life in Prison at the least! How come the US District court goes easy on Illegal Aliens? Nobody is "holding" Eric Holder and Barack Obama responsible for Brian Terry's death. A Conspiracy is secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful. Who gave the orders to run GUNS to Mexico?

In the days of the Wild West, They used to SHOOT criminals right away, or Hang Um High! We should not tolerate this WAR on the USA! If Germany or Japan invaded us. We wouldn't talk German or Japanese. But now you buy toilet paper or other goods they're in SPANISH! Were too kind of a nation!

Mexico's immigration policy is against Illegal Aliens, from other nations. But the US can't have the same policy? Why? We have the laws on the books. All we need to do is to enforce it!

Holder you deserve the same fate you stupid ****

Ken Herbert @ 2/10/2014 4:26 PM

Eric Holder and his goons should be charged with felony murder

James McDonough @ 2/10/2014 5:40 PM

Sad that Brian Terry's life (eternity) was worth 30 years. I guess that's what our lives as LEOs equate to in time and money - I suppose LOSS and GRIEF don't factor by Fed standards. Ashamed of my government and the courts. Sad, Sad, SAD!

Morning Eagle @ 2/10/2014 6:49 PM

I agree with the above comments. Question: How long will he serve before obama turns him loose? Typical federal so-called prosecutors. Don't forget they hauled this POS out on a helicopter leaving Agent Terry to be transported by wheeled vehicle over rough terrain making it difficult to control the bleeding and it took much longer to get him to medical care. In my opinion definitely contributed to the fact he didn't survive. Because of fast and furious gun running into Mexico obama, holder and so on down the chain of command to the field supervisors on the ground that approved and ran that illegal operation should all be charged as accessories before the fact and prosecuted. Who knows, maybe they could make a plea deal with spineless federal prosecutors and only have to do two weeks of community service. And which brain dead supervisor made the call on transportation?

john @ 2/10/2014 7:20 PM

Well if he lived in MEXICO, Federal prison will be like THE HOTEL RITZ for him huh? Free food ,medicine ,drugs , TV god shoot them suckers next time they might all start killing more patrolman if they find this out?

That pos should have been left in a wash for the coyotes (four legged) to finish. Now we have to feed and house this scum. Holder deserves the same, although I have nothing against coyotes. Blues, Stay Safe.

Retired Chief @ 2/10/2014 8:52 PM

The simple fact is this. The current administration, which appoints federal prosecutors, refuses to control our border. They want every single illegal to stay here and become potential voters for the party currently in power. This same administration does not like cops or the military. This administration does everything it can to push its agenda and to send a message. Obama and Holder think they are above the low. Fast and Furious is just one of dozens of examples. Unless and until Congress or the SCOTUS holds our renegade administration accountable to the Constitution and the law look for all assaults/murders of cops to be treated lightly by the feds.

The sentence is a f**ken joke. 30 damn years!!! Are you serious? Not to mention free medical, dental, 3 hots and a cot. This asshole has it better in prison than he would have had on the streets. The only sentence that would be suitable is DEATH.

Mando @ 2/11/2014 6:19 AM

Use armed drones. Any targets identified with loads of drugs or weapons, wipe them out.

Capt. Crunch @ 2/11/2014 11:21 AM

Eric Holder, should have received the 30 year prison sentence for his role in Fast and Furious and Arellanes, should have got the death sentence. We need to recall this Chicago thug.
