VIDEO: Tenn. Officer Killed in Crash

The Whiteville, Tenn., community is mourning the loss of Officer Eddie Hamer, a Whiteville police officer who was killed in a car crash Monday afternoon, WMC TV reports.

The crash happened at the intersection of Van Buren Road and West Fork Road in Hardeman County.

Hamer had been on the police force full time for about one year and had been a reserve officer since 2005.

He also worked as a part-time animal control officer for the Hardeman County Sheriff's office. He was killed while on duty as an animal control officer.
