Former Cop Held Without Bail in Fatal Shooting at Florida Movie Theater

January 14, 2014  |

The retired Florida cop who allegedly shot and killed a young dad who was texting during a movie "had every right to defend himself" after the man hurled a bag of popcorn at him, his lawyer said, reports the New York Daily News.

Curtis Reeves, 71, made his first appearance in court Tuesday to face second-degree murder charges for allegedly killing Chad Oulson, 43, during an argument over texting at a Tampa-area theater Monday.

Judge Lynn Tepper ordered Reeves held without bond and rejected the defense's claims that the murder charges were too severe.

"The evidence of guilt is significant," Tepper said.

I got nothing. This is FUBAR all the way around. The only good part was the off-duty Sumter Co. deputy who took down the shooter.

I hope people learn a lesson from this incident.

Another old PSYCHOPATH who proves LAWS of Gun are utter BS and made to enslave the populous of THE USA? It does not matter whether you are a Hard core Cartel crimminal; or some COP or FBI possession of any firearm is the sole responsibility of the user not the LAWS or WEAPON itself ? 5 year in diapers can pick up loaded AK in Africa and shoot a full grown man by total accident or Sentinals of the NWO you Gestapo can shoot people by accident such as the teenager with a BB gun ....or I can decide to stick my fingers in socket of 220 volt dryer and die right now --all CHOICE and CHANCE period!!!!

Judging by your desultory and nonsensical statements, perhaps choosing the 220V socket might be a good option for you. Your statements and spelling make no sense. What's your message here?

I admit I was wrong about the Rodney King case. But being wrong works both ways. Like what if Kelly Thomas is innocent? As for --> hatred of this whole fail @ ?? Just someone who is trying to make, Conspiracy Theory people like me look bad?? A psy-op plant I don't know? But the shooting in FL needs to be looked at, because the media has an Anti-Gun agenda. I like people looking at ALL SIDES of the story! If the Ex-PD was attacked first, I hope the truth will shed some light on the situation! Making mistakes are human attributes. I want no MARSHAL LAW, egged on by angry psy-ops, to enrage LEOs! People can be Civil and agree to disagree!

Sounds like somebody was off their badly needed medication. I guess if you can get killed over skittles then popcorn can be a deadly weapon too.
