Ala. Jury Deliberates Trooper's Fate Over Fatal Patrol Car Crash

A Limestone County, Ala., jury will continue deliberations today on whether Trooper Heath Moss was criminally negligent in a wreck that killed a Tanner couple.

A Limestone County, Ala., jury will continue deliberations today on whether Trooper Heath Moss was criminally negligent in a wreck that killed a Tanner couple, the Decatur Daily reports.

Moss, 33, is on trial on two counts of criminally negligent homicide in the April 25, 2011, wreck that killed Jamie Lee Gossett, 31, and Sarah Lynn Gossett, 38, on Lucas Ferry Road in Tanner.

The charges are misdemeanors that carry a sentence of up to one year in jail for each count.

The jury began deliberations Wednesday afternoon and met about 90 minutes before breaking at about 5 p.m.
