Milwaukee Police Identify Robbery Suspect Shot and Killed at Transit Station

November 12, 2013  |

Milwaukee police said Shawn Rieves, 17, was shot and killed by officers inside the Milwaukee County Transit Terminal Monday morning, reports WISN.com.

Lt. Mark Stanmeyer said Rieves, who is from Milwaukee, did not have a criminal record. Stanmeyer said officers were called to the transit center just after 8 a.m. Monday after a driver reported that an armed man tried to enter his vehicle.

Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn said the driver left the scene, and Rieves reportedly fired one shot at the vehicle.

Flynn said officers found him sitting on a bench with a gun in his possession.  He said that three officers fired when he made a threatening move with the gun.
