Trio of Va. Officers Injured In Truck Pursuit

October 14, 2013  |

The driver of a Dodge Ram pickup rammed two Hopewell (Va.) Police cruisers and attempted to run down a third officer during a pursuit Sunday evening that ended with the suspect in custody.

Officers arrested Jonathan F. Landon, 31, in Chester following the wild chase that began at around 5 p.m. when Landon struck a building with his vehicle. Landon fled from responding officers, who opened fire after he struck the first police cruiser head on.

At some point, Landon sustained a gunshot wound to his arm. He was taken into custody after his vehicle became immobilized, reports WWBT.

The officers are expected to fully recover, Hopewell Police Chief John Keohane told WRIC.
