VIDEO: Man Killed After Allegedly Shooting N.C. Detective

Law enforcement officers in North Carolina shot and killed a suspect accused of shooting and wounding a detective last week. The multi-agency search for Brandon Devone Smith, 30, ended Sunday with a car chase and a foot pursuit. Officers shot and killed the man in a wooded area.

Authorities had accused Smith of shooting and wounding Det. Michael Spencer of the New Hanover County (N.C.) Sheriff's Office, who is also a member of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, reports the Star News Online.

Det. Spencer is expected to make a full recovery. No officers were injured in the manhunt.

One less criminal on the street, and the Taxpayers don't have to house this rotten person. I pray the Detective heals quickly.

Great job officers and a story with a happy ending.
