Villanova University Considers Sworn Officers

October 04, 2013  |

Villanova University officials are contemplating adding an on-campus, full-service police department.

If the university upgrades its current public safety department, it would join the 74% of U.S. colleges and universities that have sworn police officers on campus, reports UPI.

Both students and local law enforcement officers have voiced concerns with adding armed officers on campus.

Yes, saw the same thing at DU. Denver Police are territorial as can be. They will never allow the Denver Sheriff Dept. to Patrol, and/or Denver University to form a Police Dept. out of their existing Campus Public Safety Dept.
