Judge: No Conspiracy Charges for Ariz. Illegals

September 30, 2013  |

A federal judge has ruled that Maricopa County, Ariz., can no longer charge illegal immigrants caught being smuggled into the country as conspirators in the crime.

U.S. District Judge Robert Broomfield's Friday ruling said Sheriff Joe Arpaio and prosecutors can't enforce a 2005 state law permitting the charge because it conflicts with federal law, reports the Associated Press.

Seventy-five percent of the approximately 1,800 people charged under the smuggling law in Maricopa County through June 2011 were facing counts of conspiring to sneak themselves into the country.

Immigration rights groups filed to challenge the statute.

Another asswipe in robes. Anything to help the FELONS who are invading whats left of the country I took an Oath to protect. Long past time to oust these liberals and impeach their boss. If I paid someone to smuggle me into Canada, what do you think the RCMP would do? Buy me breakfast and drive me back home? Yeah.Right. I wonder what part of illegal this judge (?) doesn't comprehend? This is going to continue until Holder is gone. He's giving the orders from his boss. As long as the illegals are being allowed to stay, the Democratic party is increasing their voter base. Look at Kalifornia. It's a sanctuary state. LA, San Diego, and San Francisco police department have been ordered not to cooperate with ICE and Border.

Thank God I live on property that has its own range. Now I will practice more on 200-300 meter hits.

This is very serious stuff, why isn't Senstor McCain, doing somthing about this. Don't you think he should be earning his money after all he works for the people of Arizona.

@OCS060, Kalifornia was a good movie, you should come visit and then go back home.

Capt.Crunch, I think your mistaken as far as mccain working for the people of Az. He works for himself. That's why hes' been called "Turtle" since 'Nam. And why would anybody want to visit El Norte Mexico, or as you call it, california?

Here we go again. These pathetic judges have no balls, and they're hamstringing us again. Way to go. Mexico continues to laugh at us and our weak ass policies. Good job judge whatever your name is.

ColP @ 10/1/2013 8:17 AM

Effective response is multiparted: (1) to eliminate work which raises demand for people to unlawfully enter the USA by having each and every physically able, unemployed US citizen (and teenagers who quit school) or lawful resident made part of a new WPA program and start working on farms to ensure crops are harvested and not wasted (keep prices low because for sure wages aren't rising and we can't afford paying higher prices,) (2) divert State funds away from infrastructure repairs to pay for US repatriation of millions of undocumented persons back to their home countries, (3) cut back the size of the US Government by requiring states create and maintain border fences needed to control immigration into their states as the see fit, and (4) control the US Deficit and stop returning more Federal funds to states than they pay in through Federal taxes.

This rant makes about as much sense as all the stuff I just read. But, I feel better having said it.
