Detroit Officer Collapses at Motorcycle Competition

A Detroit Police
officer collapsed and died Saturday while competing in a mototcycle skills competition in Flint, reports the Detroit News
Officer Rodney Jones, 49, had just celebrated 28 years serving the department. Jones was also an executive board member of the Detroit Police Officers Association, which posted an announcement on their website.
"We offer our deepest and sincere condolences to the family and friends of Rodney," according to the statement. "Rodney, thank you for your service to the community and your country."

My condolences to this hero of our community. This is the fourth death of a motorcycle officer this year. My prayers to his family and to all motorcyle officers everywhere, please be careful.
