VIDEO: Iowa Cop Punches Shoplifter

A Davenport (Iowa) Police officer has been disciplined by his agency for repeatedly striking a shoplifter in a mall security office in February.

Brandie Redell told NBC Chicago she's considering suing Officer Scott Crow over the Feb. 13 incident that was captured on video surveillance cameras. Redell said he right eye was injured.

Von Maur department store security brought Redell into the office after catching her shoplifting. Two Davenport Police officers, including Crow, responded and began questioning Redell.

In the video, Crow is seen striking Redell multiple times. At one point, she bit the officer's finger. Crow faced disciplinary action by the agency.

I don't know what prompt the situation but there is no excuse for punching a female. Shame on you!
