VIDEO: Off-Duty Wis. Cops Insult Uniformed Officers

Two Minneapolis Police officers disparaged their police chief and called the Green Bay Police Department a "clown show" in an expletive-laden rant that included racial slurs.

Officers Brian Thole and Shawn Powell identified themselves as members of the agency's SWAT team on June 29, during a confrontation with Green Bay officers that followed a fight. Powell, a former Green Bay PD officers, and Thole said they had gone out drinking and got into a fight with a group of nine black men.

One of the Minneapolis officers said the men in the altercation “were doing their monkey thing." After Green Bay officers told the off-duty officers to return to their hotel, one of them told the uniformed officers to "f**k off" and gave one of them the finger.

Thole and Powell later argued with Green Bay Lt. Steve Mahoney in the station lobby and said they didn't want their names used in a police report. We have a lesbian f**king chief that's looking to fire people for any reason," one said, reports the Star-Tribune.

And providing it on a silver platter by being a drunken jackass was a good idea how? I'd hate to be responsible for defending their judgment in the future after this.

I think Green Bay PD would have been wise to summon the two officer's
supervisor from Minneapolis. That might have been a sobering effect with the officers involved.

So perhaps their swat motto is we dont like blacks or lesbians... I think they habe already gotten in the hot seat before this story even came out.

I think you're good boys. She'll never find out about this. Ah yes, instant a-holes. Just add alcohol. Thanks for doing a brother in blue proud.

What happens in Green Bay stays in Green Bay?

Firecop @ 7/31/2013 5:48 AM

Thanks for your stupid and iresponsible behavior. Once the public hears this, they paint all of us with the same brush and we have to work that much harder to regain their trust. You don't deserve to have the best job in the world....period.

Phil @ 7/31/2013 6:03 AM

I have always felt that a good pre-employment test to determine the morality of your officers would be to take them out and get them drunk. You can tell a lot about a persons character after they have had a few. Disrespecting the badge no matter what size the department or where the department is, is completely unacceptable and if these two fine Officers are an example of what the Chief in Minneapolis is trying to clean up in her department than more power to her. Clean away.

I'll do my best to cut a brother a break, BUT I'm not taking a cussing from two drunk asses even if they have badges. Hook and book...let the chips fall where they may. Have arrested a constable for DUI in cruiser and complete uniform... never felt bad about it. It was his choice to stop at a bar on the way home...same as these two getting drunk.

Rule #1, "don't let your alligator mouth overrule your hummingbird ass".
